St. John the Baptist Outreach Program
St. John’s Parish Outreach Program consists of men and women who provide services to our fellow parishioners. These services include:
Transportation to Medical Appointments - We provide transportation to and from doctor’s or hospital appointments for parishioners who are in need of a ride. This is one of our more active committees.
Meal Preparation - We cook and deliver hot meals to parishioners due to medical problems, surgery recovery, new baby, etc. This is one our more active committees.
Grocery and Prescription pick-up and Small Errands - We pick up groceries, prescriptions or run small errands for our parishioners who need this help.
Light Housekeeping Services - We provide light housekeeping, (Dusting, running the sweeper, tidying up) for parishioners who are unable to do this due to recent medical procedures, etc.
Snow and Leaf Removal - We provide snow removal and minor yard work to our parishioners who are unable to do this themselves and and are unable to hire someone. This is a wonderful opportunity for our younger members to help the senior members of the Parish.
We greatly need help so we can expand our volunteer list. We have a team of volunteers to share these duties, so you will be called on only occasionally to help. If you can not help, we simply call the next volunteer on the list. You can be involved as much or as little as your schedule permits. Please consider helping St. John’s Outreach Committee.
If you would like to volunteer to help or if you are in need any of these services, please contact the Rectory at 570-622-5470.
The goal of this program is to connect all parishioners in a closer Parish Family Circle, always mindful of the urging of St. Paul who said: 'Whatever you do, in work or deed – do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.' (Col. 3:17)
